The Process

The Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) Registry is maintained by Alliant Health Solutions as contracted by the Georgia Department of Community Health. This registry is used to verify that a CNA has an active certification.
To appear on the CNA Registry using the CNA Virtual Skills Evaluation Program, Candidates must have passed a written exam and a skills evaluation. The testing vendors, Credentia and UGA IDM, then submit the records to Alliant Health Solutions. If the Candidate’s personal information matches between the two records, the Candidate is placed on the registry.
- UGA IDM transfers VSE results to Alliant the business day following the proctored evaluation.
- Credentia transfers results to Alliant based on their own policy guidelines.
Ensuring Records Match
Alliant matches records based on four criteria:
- First Name – must match exactly
- Last Name – must match exactly
- Date of Birth
- Full 9-digit Social Security Number
Important! – Names must match exactly between Credentia’s and UGA IDM’s records when they are sent to Alliant, including punctuation
- Examples:
- “Johnson-Smith” does NOT match “Johnson Smith”
- “Cam’ron” does NOT match “Camron” or “Cam ron”
- Your VSE Evaluator will verify your name with you prior to conducting your evaluation
What if I pass both exams but I still do not appear on the Registry?

Tips for searching the Registry
When searching the Registry, follow these tips:
- Only enter the first three letters of your Last Name
- Only enter the first three letters of your First Name
- Do not enter a middle initial
- Submit with no other data
How does the process work?
- Pass the written exam
- Pass the Virtual Skills Evaluation
- At the time of testing, ensure your Credentia profile and our profile match in these criteria:
a. Last name
b. First Name
c. Date of Birth (DOB)
d. Social Security Number (SSN) - If both profiles match, and you have passed both exams, you will appear on the CNA registry maintained by Alliant Health Solutions.
