What is the Virtual Skills Evaluation Program?
- The Virtual Skills Evaluation Program is designed to allow Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Candidates to complete their mandatory CNA skills evaluation remotely through Zoom.
- A Virtual Skills Evaluation is provided at no cost to the facility or the Candidate.
How does a Virtual Skills Evaluation work?
- Once a Candidate has completed an approved Nurse Aide Training Program, an authorized facility representative may reach out to schedule a Virtual Skills Evaluation on the Candidate’s behalf.
- One of our Registered Nurse (RN) Evaluators observes the Candidate through Zoom using a camera instead of being present in the room during the evaluation. The Virtual Skills Evaluation is conducted in the skills lab of the Nurse Aide Training Program.
- There will be a Proctor from the training facility in the room with the Candidate; the Proctor assists with positioning the camera so the Evaluator can clearly see each task.
- The Candidate will be randomly assigned a total of five (5) skills to perform. The Candidate must successfully complete all five (5) skills to pass the Virtual Skills Evaluation.
How do I schedule a Virtual Skills Evaluation?
- Only an authorized facility representative (such as a Training Program Director or Administrator) can request a Virtual Skills Evaluation on behalf of the Candidate at least five (5) to seven (7) days prior to the need for testing.
How much does the Virtual Skills Evaluation cost? Do CNA candidates need a voucher?
There isĀ no cost for the Virtual Skills Evaluation, thus no need for a voucher.
How long is each Virtual Skills Evaluation?
- A typical Virtual Skills Evaluation lasts approximately 30 minutes. We schedule testing sessions in 60-minute blocks to allow for flexibility in set up, testing, paperwork, and clean up.
Do you test in the evening or on weekends?
- At this time, we do not currently schedule Virtual Skills Evaluations in the evening or on weekends. We operate on a standard schedule of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
Do you require Social Security cards?
- The Candidate is only required to provide their Social Security Number during our secure registration process. During the Virtual Skills Evaluation, we only require a government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license, as well as confirmation of identity by the Proctor.
Does the CNA Candidate need to take the written test before the Virtual Skills Evaluation?
- No, the Virtual Skills Evaluation can be completed before or after the written test.
Can Candidates test at another facility that is not their own?
- A Candidate who has completed their NATP may utilize another facility’s authorized skills lab.
- The Candidate must have written permission from both facilities.
- For inquiries regarding this, please contact [email protected].
How do I get my test results?
- Following completion of the Virtual Skills Evaluation, the Candidate will receive an automated email that indicates their overall score (Pass/Fail).
- The Proctor will also receive a copy of the Candidate’s results.
- The Candidate can contact [email protected] if they wish to see additional information regarding their evaluation, including skills and/or steps they may have missed.
- In the email, please include your first and last name, date of skills evaluation, and location of skills evaluation.
I passed both my written and skills tests. Why am I not on the Georgia CNA Registry?
- Following completion of the Virtual Skills Evaluation, the UGA Evaluation Team will submit the pass results to Alliant Health Solutions within one (1) to three (3) business days.
- If the Candidate is still not on the Georgia CNA Registry after three (3) business days, please contact [email protected] with the following information:
- Legal spelling of first and last name
- Date the written exam was passed
- Date the skills test was passed
How do I request an appeal?
- To request an appeal, the Candidate must inform the CNA VSE team of their request by contacting [email protected] with an explanation for the requested appeal. Our team will conduct a formal review of the test recording and documentation. Candidates will then be notified of the results of their appeal within 30 days.
How do I schedule a retest?
- To schedule a retest, an authorized facility representative (such as a Training Program Director or Administrator) may reach out to [email protected] on behalf of the Candidate at least five (5) to seven (7) days prior to the desired retest date.
